Organised Visits
If you are interested in coming along to the observatory,
or would like to bring a party such as Guides, Scouts, Cubs or a school
class please contact
Graham
Winstanley our visits organiser.
He will make
all the necessary arrangements for your visit.
IYA 2009
We are planning numerous public open evenings during
2009 to celebrate the International Year of Astronomy.
Visit their
website at www.astronomy2009.org
Refurbishment
The Observatory has recently been refurbished for the
first time in 25 years! The dome has been re-skinned and the telescope
has had an overhaul making it better than ever.
We are sure that all
who visit the observatory will appreciate the effort made by the society
members.
Newcomers to Astronomy
Beginners sessions continue to be popular. If you would
like to learn more about astronomy then feel free to come along on Tuesday
evenings (except for the First Tuesday of each month) from about 7.30
pm.
We always have some members available to help answer
your queries and you will be able to use the telescope. We all enjoy
these sessions and look forward to welcoming you.
See you soon.
