Solar Eclipse 20th March 2015

Every few years the Moon goes between the Earth and the Sun. This is a solar eclipse. On the morning of 20th March 2015, the UK will experience its largest area of totallity since the August 1999 eclipse.

The track of the eclipse runs between the north of Scotland and Iceland and is only visible on the ground from a few islands. In Lincoln we are due to experience about 90% totality.

It is very dangerous to look at the Sun directly so the society are going to post live images in the Hydrogen Alpha part of the spectrum.
