2004BL86

We had a close pass by the near earth asteroid 2004BL86 on Monday evening. Here is a ten minute video. Each frame was 15 seconds long showing how much the object moved during that period. The image is approximately 35 arc minutes wide (slightly wider than the moon). It was taken using a Celestron 70 travelscope on a guided mount using an ASI120MM camera.

The image is 6MB.

Good work Phil .....

Is it rotating do we know? It has the appearance similar to a tumbling piece of space junk, worm like, albeit much brighter.

Well done.
