Ideas for new website

Postby johnmantra » Tue Mar 19, 2013 8:01 pm

Hi glyn,

Just snowballing some ideas for the members corner of the new site,

- a "monthly targets" section would be nice with where/how to find them. Different levels too i.e for beginners and advanced. With maybe a section in the forum for members to post their findings along with pics.

- i'll send you some PDF's of some observation forms i made to encourage more members to observe more.

Let me know what you think.
i'll add more as i think of them.

Thanks for the ideas John.
The monthly targets ideas could perhaps involve bagging Messier Objects.
If you have a suitable observation form please send it to me and I will add it to the new website.
You might want to kick off something on the Forum for baggers to boast about their observations but remember, I won't have the new website up and running till the end of March so aim for 1st April. :geek:

See the 'STOG' post.

Small Telescope Observers Group

The idea is a provide a simple set of targets (to start with) each month, suitable for up to say a 3 inch (75mm) refractor, for newcomers to have a go at and post back how they got on.
